viv,i have an extra possum who comes in to steal the cat food,he takes turns with the armadillo, then there's jake the snake who comes into the kitchen for a mouse meal now and then, they avoid the cats and the dog is 13 so she could care less as long as the intruder leaves her spot intact. i live in the jungles of southwest georgia and truely the wild things of every kind are a comfort and curiosity. found baby alligators down at the branch, won't take a nap there anytime soon, and have a rabbit out front who challenges my little tallulah kitty to a chase whenever he can. i hope i don't step on any cantankerous type of reptile and hope the wild monkeys from down along the swannee don't come up this far and no more bears, mountain lions wild boars are required to keep me happy. arizona hiways was always a favorite magazine for me but i like the old humid sweaty, stormy, jungles of the deeeeeep south. really wil send the possum if you are still interested. aileen

Oh how I envy you to have witnessed such a touching scene. I am not wheelchair bound, but I live in a mobile home park in the desert of Arizona. Being a Yankee where there are trees, brooks, rivers, flowers and DEER I miss being a part of that. Well, it really isn't the desert where I live but rather a suburb of Phoenix---and there is nothing touching about the people people people and TRAFFIC. My husband and I moved to Az 40 years ago while our daughters were still young. Our "thots" were they would grow, and marry and move to where he and I could visit. NOT TO BE!!!!!!!! The girls all stayed here in Az. When he passed away 13 years ago I headed east as fast and often as I could, but now I need those girls of mine. So here I stay. Like my grandson ----when he was 14----said "Yep, life's a bitch and then ya die". He is now somewhere "over there" in the National Guard. But I am grateful for my family, I am grateful when I waken in the morning and find I am still breathing----but DOG GONE I WOULD LOVE TO SEE A DEER AND DOG MAKING FRIENDS
