Hi Viv, Hi Lois, Hi everyone,
I have not been on very much the last couple of weeks. With my husband's family in No. Florida and mine in So. Florida and the Caribbean, we have been going nuts worrying about them and those darn hurricanes. They are fine, just waterlogged and extremely weary.
The colder weather just hit us in Illinois and we received a shock of a lifetime....our heating system went totally kapooy...zonked out....croaked. It gave us no hint that it wanted to die last winter, but I guess after 26 years it is entitled...lol. I just bought this house last year and my hubby and I have spent every dime and working moment rebuilding, repairing and bringing it back to life (it was a repo that was absolutely trashed and neglected for years). So a new system it will have......
We love the house and I think we are the only people to get an applause from the neighbors when we started replacing the roof and doors and painted the exterior....kind of scary...lol. I have a huge picture window in the living room and people actually came up our lawn to peer in to see what we have done to the house. Thank goodness we do not run around in our "alltogethers" or the neigbors would really get a surprise.
I also enjoy all the emails that go back and forth. I especially love the stories and pictures. Beth sent great pics of the Great Lakes Training Center. I shall be on more often and look forward to hearing from all. I would like to share a few of the experiences of living overseas and stationed in some unusual places. I was fortunate while working with Civil Service and serving with the Reserves at the same time, I was TDY teaching HazMat all over stateside and a multitude of places overseas.
Everyone take care and God Bless.
Sandy
