Oviously, Judge Roberts is voicing his own desires and opinions. There are many, some Repulicans are saying TOO MANY, Republicans who do not follow that rule. If you have been paying attention to the votes in Congress you have noticed that there are many who vote with the Democrats. That is why they are called RINOs (Republicans In Name Only).

Chief Justice Roberts makes no secret of his desire to foster as much agreement among his benchmates as possible.
FULL STORY
This reminds me of when I was elected to the Charter Commission to revise our Town's Charter. I was a double minority, a woman, and (at that time), a Democrat. I was informed, by my mainly Republican fellows, that we were to always make an unanimous finding to the voters, when a question was up for a recommended referendum vote.
You could fight the "good fight" up to our actual vote, went the rule, but then, it must be unanimous. I'm proud of the fact that I issued a Minority Report, to the voters, for the first time in our Town's living memory,
Interestingly enough, when I served on the School Board, I was given the same message by the School's Republican lawyers, at "orientation", that disagreement with the Board's decisions was not to be publicly voiced, once a vote was taken. He did back down, when I inquired if the "rule", as written in the policies, was meant to curtail and void my freedom of speech. Hat amazed me is, that only one other person in the room, from several school systems, said, "Yes, I'd like to know, too".
Tell me, Republicans, is this a Party law? Is this why the Republican Congress has passed questionable issues without any dissent, (until election time)? Are they so ingrained to the idea that they must conform to the Party's decisions, that they are incapable of asking a question, or objecting? My experiences were in the 1970s-1980s.,,,doesn't seem like anything has changed much, because it sounds like Roberts has the same approach.
